Cooking Activities in Camping

One of the exciting activities that kids anticipate in camping is getting involved in cooking. With the use of simple camping cookware or even just an aluminum foil with non-stick spray, you can do wonderful dishes. If you would like to make cooking a bit more exciting for all family members, you can let each member, including the kids, to make their own dish and then the whole family can share them afterwards. Whether it’s just foil roasted veggies, pot roast meals or foil Peach cobbler recipes they make, the fun you experience and appreciation of everyone’s efforts is a great experience.

After your meals, you can take about each others dish and comment about them. You should try to make this constructive and as much as possible, non-offensive to keep the fun atmosphere of the activity. The best place to do this is during a marshmallow session over the campfire. After this, you’ll be amazed how your family gets bonded. It’s really great that a simple activity can do wonders for your family.

Melbourne

Melbourne is the capital of Victoria and the second most populous city in Australia. It offers great outdoor activities, lively parties and excellent food. Possible activities are scuba and wreck diving, surfing, swimming, hiking and horseback riding. The night life in Melbourne City is something to look forward to as the place has a good number of bars, pubs, night clubs and it is home to the Victorian Arts Centre; a place for people that prefers classical and operatic performances. There are also festivals to look forward to like the St Kilda Festival which is a huge musical event that lasts for eight days and participated by more than fifty bands.

Melbourne offers great places to stay in and offers a wide range of variety when it comes to budget and preference. You can easily book a Melbourne Hotels, lodges and walk in through bed and breakfasts. Getting to Melbourne is never a problem. Getting around Melbourne is not a problem because you easily take a train, taxi or hire a car.

The Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon is the best place to be for outdoor enthusiasts. It offers the best experience in hiking, camping, rafting, sight seeing, and wildlife tours in the Grand Canyon National Park. It stretches from Colorado into the Northern most part of Arizona. One of my favorite activities here is the tour to the Out of Africa Wildlife Park where you get to see and take pictures of beautiful, exotic animals. With the guidance of a Park caretaker, you even get a chance to hold snakes and wrap them up your neck! Hikes and Treks are also popular in the Grand Canyon. My favorite trail to hike is the Grandview Trail; one of the best of the non-maintained trails. My Reef sandals are okay to use in this trail since doesn’t really have difficult sections. Another attraction here is the Grand Canyon Skywalk; a cantilever shaped glass walkway to suspend more than 4,000 feet above the canyon’s floor that offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Grand Canyon.

The Grand Canyon offers flexible options for accommodations and lodging based on your budget and preferences. You can choose from luxurious hotels to rustic cabins, cottages, bed and breakfasts and inns. However, accommodations should be booked at least a couple of months before your trip. Grand Canyon caters different dining options like cafes, steak houses, pizza and burgers and fine restaurants. My personal favorite is Rod’s Steak House where I had the best steak of my life! Rod’s special steak is a hefty sirloin dipped in sugar and grilled over mesquite.

With great activities, good food, and comfortable accommodations, the Grand Canyon definitely offers one of the best outdoors get away.
